Bottlenotes/The Proof "All Mixed Up"

We know you make all your cocktails and cocktail ingredients from scratch. Us too. Well, mostly.

Sometimes we’re crunched for time, have unexpected guests over, or just not feeling the whole making a big to do out of drink prep thing.

Enter, pre-made mixers. Though mixers used to have a bad reputation, today’s offerings are so good you need not feel any DIY-guilt about having a bottle on hand. Bonus: in a pinch they make great gifts, too.

Here, we rounded up some of our favorites for fall drinking:

Smoked Honey Whiskey Sour
For when you need a whiskey sour, like, 5 minutes ago, this mix is dead simple to use.

Blood Orange Muscat
This wine grape-based mixer adds a fruity spin to your basic bourbon cocktail. The new company makes other great flavors—lemongrass ginger or jasmine juniper—but we like this blood orange muscat one for fall.

Spiced Old Fashioned
What better way to mark the changing of the seasons than with a little spice? This mix, meant to be stirred up with some whiskey, has cinnamon, allspice and a touch of orange.

Smoked Tea Vanilla
This super versatile small batch syrup from Oregon producer Raft would be mighty fine with soda water and a shot of whiskey or tequila.
